Beautiful boots –
I ordered these boots about two days before Christmas, and they were here for Christmas. My husband really loved these boots, I love mens shoes also these are sharp looking boots. He said they wore great; if I could get them in brown I would get them.

Stacy Adams Madison Boot has been around for as long as I can remember I’m 61 and I came up in Philly. All the old heads would ware Stacy Adams they use to call them comforts. Now I know why. They are comfortable and they shine up nice. They never change the look or style, change isn’t always good.

he Stacy Adams Madison Boot is a shoe style that goes back over 100 years, so one has to appreciate the retro-look or else look elsewhere. That said, it is a very elegant shoe, and because it is made out of thin, comfortable leather, the shoe feels comfortable right away, without much need to break it in. I am so happy that Stacy Adams offered extra wide which is what I needed, as this type of shoe is a bit on the narrow side. That way I could order it in my true size. Because it is such an unusual looking dress shoe, I get many compliments, and now I, like others who have this shoe, want to get a second pair in another color. Recommended.

I bought a pair of these Stacy Adams old school lace up boots, as I used to have a pair similar made by Johnson-Murphy. J-M no longer makes them, and as I am on my feet all day, lace up ankle boots really help me. These Stacy Adams are very comfortable and the sizing worked for me perfectly. They seem like good quality, and the price was right, so if they last half as long as my old J-M’s did, I’ll be happy!

Outstanding customer service! Received the replacement shoes the next day! Wow! This boot is one size too big and narrow. Order 1 size down and wide for normal fit. Top quality boot. Sandpaper the soles a bit and add snow seal, and Dr. Scholl’s insole that is 3/4 length arch support for a superb fit, no slip or squeaks.

This is a beautiful shoe. Breaking it in was a little uncomfortable, and I think conditioning your skin is a greater issue than wearing in the shoe. I bought a pair in brown, and it seemed like it took forever to get comfortable. Then, I got the same pair in black, and it felt comfortable almost right away.

Great boots. Very comfortable, can be dressed up or down, good for dancing. Make sure you take care of them (especially wipe the salt off them in the winter) as my first pair cracked from harsh conditions.

These shoes are beautiful. I am a bit of a steampunk and needed shoes close to those of the Victorian era. These totally do the job! Well-constructed, classically styled and exactly what I wanted. The fit is perfect for me, but most folks might want to order a wider pair. Zappos service was top notch and I will soon be buying another pair in brown.

Great looking shoes at a very cheap price, but the quality is abysmal. The leather is paper-thin and will crease in less than a month, and I’ve had lace hooks fall off on both of my pairs. I don’t expect lots from a boot at this price, but the leather is really that bad. The Brockton Original is a bit less formal (and more expensive), but it’s a much better shoe.

I was extremely disappointed with these. I should have heeded others’ poor reviews. The leather is indeed very thin and immediately acquired countless creases. The combination of the thin leather shiny finish looks cheap and creates an embarrassing amount of noise when walking. The uppers are stiff and dug into my ankles. They may have broken in eventually, but the sole one one shoe separated from the leather after the fourth wear. The construction is so flimsy I can put my finger through the inside and out between the boot and sole. I have never owned such a cheap shoe at this price. It is a shame, because the style out of the box was sharp.

These are great looking shoes, as most people have agreed. They do squeak obnoxiously, but that is easy to fix. All you have to do is rub lotion on the tongue of the shoe on all areas where the leather touches the leather. I used Gold Bond. It is easy to do and there is no more squeaking! I bought the brown and am about to buy the black as well.

Great shoe. We use them in all of our period shows here at our theatre company. Usally require an insole for comfort. Tend to run a little narrow.

These suave boots perfectly suit someone who has a great sense of style, especially someone who is sometimes formal/sometimes semi-goth. They are very polished looking, very comfortable, and look splendid on the foot.

These are great looking boots! They are subtle yet not! They are perfect on style. They run very large and narrow (I wear an 8½, but got a 7 in these boots, and I fit into the 6½). The sizing is similar to Kenneth Cole. I am curious if anyone else finds there is much stretch to these, because I am wondering if I should go back to the smaller size, which was snug but easier to walk in. Any tips for how tightly boots should initially fit? I could not fit wool socks under the 6½, but cannot wear thin socks with the 7 or they feel floppy.

I absolutely love these boots. They are my primary footwear, summer, winter, and in-between. Great fit and durability. Good looks in a suit, slacks, or jeans. Very comfortable, and they breath quite well. I wear them with wool socks for warmth in the winter, and switch to cotton socks in warmer weather. Either way, these boots feel good, look good, and have a respectable lifespan. On my scale of 1-10, they are a 12.

Bought these for a character in a stage play. I hope Stacy Adams never stops making these – they are wonderful! I have many pairs in my costume stock. One thing about this particular pair – they squeeked, quite loudly at first, but it never totally went away. We decided it worked for the character! Note – It does take a bit of time to break these in.

I usually do not write reviews, but I had to make an exception with these shoes. They are absolutely awesome! First, I wear a wide, and one manufactures wide is not the same as another’s. In this instance, for me, the fit was superb. I believe these are the most comfortable dress shoes I have every owned. On occasion I will walk home from work (15 minutes) and my feet are no worse for the wear. I do not feel like I have to tear these things off the minute I get home. As for style, they are distinctly vintage looking and you will get compliments, so be forewarned. They are rather shiny as others have mentioned, but I always polish my shoes so I do not consider that a detriment. I would highly recommend these shoes if your looking for a unique alternative to your standard dress shoe. I am very happy with these shoes and as always, Zappos is a remarkable company in every way.
